May be used as part of a larger IQ or neuropsychological test battery.
Interpretation :
Shorter time + fewer errors = Better cognitive and motor performance.
Long time + more errors = May suggest cognitive or motor impairments.
Purpose :
To evaluate a child’s developmental milestones across various domains, including motor skills, speech and language, and personal-social development. (Bharat Raj’s Developmental Screening Test)
Target Age Group :
Children from birth to 15 years
Structure:
Comprises 88 items. A administered through a semi-structured interview with the child’s primary caregiver. Focuses on observing and recording the child’s abilities and behaviors pertinent to their age.
Scoring:
Each item corresponds to a specific developmental age. The child’s Developmental Age (DA) is determined based on the highest level of items they successfully complete. The Developmental Quotient (DQ) is then calculated using a simple formula: CA / DA x 100
Interpretation :
A DQ of 100 indicates that the child’s developmental age matches their chronological age.
Scores below 100 suggest developmental delays, while scores above 100 indicate advanced development. **Professionals use these scores to identify areas where a child may need support or intervention
