Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a form of psychotherapy, a relatively short term , focused approach that treats psychological problems and boosts happiness, confident by modifying dysfunctional  thoughts  emotions, and behaviors .  

Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP)  Is a method of influencing brain behaviour (the "neuro") through the use of language (the "linguistic") and other types of communication to enable a person to "recode" the way the brain responds to stimuli (that's the "programming") and manifest new and better behaviours.

The neurological system regulates how our bodies function, language determines how we interface and communicate with other people and our programming determines the kinds of models of the world we create. Neuro-Linguistic Programming describes the fundamental dynamics between mind (neuro) and language (linguistic) and how their interplay affects our body and behavior (programming).
